JACKSON, MI - As electric vehicles land in driveways across Michigan, one of the state’s largest utilities will deploy 18,000 artificial intelligence-powered devices to better understand their impact on the electric grid.

Consumers Energy says the modules, to be installed on electric meters used by EV owners, will provide “real-time data analytics and predictions” to assess how cars and trucks juiced by home charging stations can be accommodated while maintaining reliability.
